250 speakers in 64 symposia

Nearly 1,000 mycologists from 55 nations attended the first international meeting to be held in Bangkok’s Queen Sirikit National Convention Center since the May coup led by General Prayuth Chan-ocha, presently head of the National Council for Peace and Order.
The tenth International Mycological Congress, or IMC10, featured talks by more than 250 speakers in 64 symposia and posters by more than 500 fungal biologists to be presented over five days, from August 4-8.
In attendance from Plant and Microbial Biology Department were: PMB Department Chair N. Louise Glass, Professors John Taylor and Tom Bruns, and grad students Sydney Glassman and Iman Sylvain

Drs Luís F. Gusmão of the Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana in Bahia,Brazil and Elizabeth Arnold of the University of Arizona receive their International Mycological Association Young Mycologist Awards from IMA President John Taylor of the University of California, Berkeley at IMC10 in Bangkok, Thailand.
