The goal of my research is to use fungal symbioses, such as lichens, to address large scale questions such as mechanisms driving the latitudinal diversity gradient and projected outcomes of global climate change. My work emphasizes the importance of long-term ecological studies, and promotes cross-disciplinary approaches to fundamental questions.
