Research
I am interested in microbial communities used in biotechnology and those present in natural and contaminated environments. Specifically, my focus is on metagenomic characterization of microbial communities responsible for degradation of the mining contaminant thiocyanate. This work is a collaboration between the Banfield lab and the Center for Bioprocess Engineering Research at University of Cape Town.
Teaching
